Illegal allocation of temple land by TNHRCE
The president of Indic Collective Trust, Shri T.R. Ramesh has filed a petition in the High Court of Madras challenging the illegal allocation of lands belonging to Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani, Sri Kanitmati Sameta and Sri Nellaiappar Temples in Tirunelveli and Sri Devi Baliamman and Sri Ilangaliamman Temples in Chennai, under State government’s ‘Old-age Home’ scheme. The petition challenges the allocation on the grounds that in absence of duly appointed temple trustees, the decision pertaining to sale/allocation or any other administrative decision with respect to the temple property, cannot be taken by government officers or EOs.
