Notices issued to the TNHRCE and other Departments
President of Indic Collective Trust, Mr. T.R. Ramesh issued two notices dated 27th January and 25th February, 2020 to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department and the Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowment Department of Tamil Nadu.
First notice was issued to the Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture & Religious Endowments Department and to the Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The notice points out and calls upon action towards the chronic misappropriation of funds of Hindu Religious Institutions under the control and supervision of the said departments. Provisions of the Indian Penal Code attracted by such systematic siphoning of funds are Sections 108, 109, 120B, 405, 406, 408 and 409.
Second notice was issued to the Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu; calling upon compliance of the RTI Act 2005 by the Department and public authorities functioning under it. The notice points out blatant flouting of the Right to information by the PIOs and Appellate authorities functioning under the said department.
